Guitar, ukulele, and songwriting lessons
Inquire below for fun-centered music lessons, either virtually or at Kat's home studio in Piedmont, CA. Weekly lessons are offered on a monthly tuition model, which is detailed below. Short term opportunities are also available. For example, Kat offers coaching for 8th grade or senior music-centered projects, as well as prep for arts magnet school or other music program auditions. There are currently only openings for students who are available before 3pm PST on weekdays. Short term projects are also possible.
Policies and Tuition
30 min lessons (virtual before 2pm PST): $225/month
30 min lessons (virtual/in-person hybrid): $250/month
45 min lessons (virtual/in-person hybrid): $287/month
Monthly tuition is based on an assumed 46 lessons per year. Please scroll down to see the studio calendar.
Tuition also includes membership to the virtual Practice Club led by super cool teen musicians (Beginning in Sept 2022!) Tuition for local students also includes at least one mini-recital every year.
FreshBooks makes payment easy and you can even sign up for Auto-Pay.
Cancellation policy: Excused absences are cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice. For an excused absence, the student will be credited a make-up lesson. Unexcused absences are cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice or notice. Those absences are not made up.
Cancellation rules do not apply in the case of illness or family emergency. Sick students are not happy students, and a makeup will be credited for when the student is feeling better.
Make-up lessons can be scheduled using Calendly for as soon as possible or saved for another time if desired. If I have to cancel, I will of course offer a make-up credit and make every effort to reschedule, and pro-rate the month if rescheduling is not possible. Lesson credits can also be redeemed by adding time on to future lessons when possible (For example, you can add 15 minutes to two lessons to use one 30 min credit, schedule allowing).
Lesson hiatus: Sometimes students benefit from taking a break from lessons. I will always do my best to find a new lesson time for a student after a break, but I can't guarantee a space as I also need to offer lessons times to kids on my wait list when they come up.
